Walk in The Park.
I stopped into Park Life on Clement Street in the Richmond District the other day, to say hello to Jamie Alexander, art collector extraordinaire, and one of the shop's partners. Park Life is an independent gallery space, featuring amazing artists' work, as well as a wonderfully fun shop, chock full of great art books, paper goods, toys, tee's, home accessories, gifts and music (and you can shop online, as well).
For Park Life partners, Jamie Alexander and Derek Song, the shop is a labor of love for all things art related. In the gallery their ambition is to show the most engaging contemporary art being created today. Park Life Gallery plans to hold 10 - 12 exhibits each year, their goal to showcase art and design that the two find relevant.
The current gallery exhibit features Zachary Rossman's beautiful new work Disrepair (above). next up in the gallery, Funhouse, a group show beginning October 24th, featuring the work of Taylor Mckimens, Misaki Kawai, Kathy Grayson, Carly Haffner, Don Porcella, Matt Lienes, and Ben Jones.
