Juicy, Juicy News.

I love Juicy News. It's my neighborhood dealer for the magazines I crave. And they serve smoothies and juice while you're browsing. All very civilized. They carry magazines from all over the world, so I can get my fix of British Vogue, Elle Decor, and Marie Claire Maison. As well as the state-side mags like Domino, Dwell, Metropolitan Home etc. It's located in what was once an old Home Linens Shop (Linge De Maison) on Fillmore Street @ Jackson, just a few blocks from my apartment, AND it's right next door to my favorite local coffee stop, Tully's. So if I'm not in the mood for juice, I can stock up on my reading material and then sit in the sunshine with my coffee, day dreaming of living in one of the fabulous abodes featured in these magazines. It's all quite pleasant on a Saturday afternoon. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend it.

Victoria,

Are you familiar with a British shelter mag called Living Etc.? If you aren't I recommend it. Mostly modern, and emphasis on the personality of the homeowner, not the dictates of a designer. I think a few years ago it won an AT poll of favorite shelter mag.

Juicy News is a delight, isn't it?

I too have an independent coffee shop I visit with my magazines in hand. I love the fact that they start making my drink for me the minute I walk in, before I even order. I sit in the corner and just completely zone out while I dive into these worlds of other people. It is the best mental vacation I can take and I do it just about every Saturday morning.
