Um, But I'm Not in Kansas.
So, here I am at the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport and it appears, due to a TORNADO warning, severe lightening and thunder, they have closed the airport until the storm passes. Hmmm, I'm not really used to this kinda weather. Is it really a good idea to fly around when a tornado is even remotely close by?
Wish me luck!

victoria,
no, it's not a good idea to fly when there's a tornado coming. i'm sure those folks at d/fw are used to it, though, as dallas is in the "tornado alley" region of the u.s. you guys in s.f. have earthquakes, and i'm sure i'd freak out if i was ever in one!! be careful out there and get back safely.

if you get stuck, i have a friend who lives about 10 minutes from the DFW airport if you need any rescuing. She has a heart the size of texas. (and lives in a really cool mid-century modern home with furniture to match!) Double bonus!
I agree, a tornado is NOTHING compared to an earthquake... I've never been in one but everytime I'm in San Francisco and a cable car goes by I think, "Ahhh! It's an earthquake!"
Hunker down and get some magazines girl!
thanks so much you guys! it's been a really long and tough day, so it feels so nice to have your support.
it was freakin' turbulent up there! it's so good to be safe and sound at home with my big dog, Coop!
and shawn - you are so sweet to think of your friend rescuing me. thanks to all of you!
Looks like you had your sparkly red shoes on just like Dorothy. Glad you got home safely.
awwww...poor thing! yeah yesterday was scary! it's never fun when you have tornado sirens going off every where! I'm on the Ft. Worth side and we always get it the worst!
Glad you made it! Welcome to Texas in the spring!
After 3 years in Texas I'm back in NorCal and funny thing... I kinda miss the weather. Not the heat or the humidity but the big lightning hitting the ground all around you and the torrential downpours that threaten to drown you. That's real weather, not this pesky drizzle that just annoys you.
On the lighter side of things, I am lovin your quirky post pics right now! Giggles all around...
Be safe!
Um, are you living my life? I was at DFW yesterday too. They made us move away from the windows but wouldn't give any info more than "turbulent weather." We finally flew out, only, oh, 7 hours late, and I got back home to SF at 3 am! I haven't blogged about it yet but prob'ly will.
Holly - that's so crazy! Nobody told us to move away from the windows, and half the airport employees I spoke to didn't seem to even know they'd shut down the airport. Yep, they loaded us onto the plane 3 hours late and then we sat on the tarmac for 2-1/2 hours.
Thus, the lack of posts today, guys. Sorry, but I'm beat! :)
