Fashion Friday: Sherbet Tone.

I've been feeling a little bit like I want to add something new to good, old sfgirl, and not to go off subject too much, but I've decided to add a bit about fashion. We all like to look good as we float around (and out of) our fabulous homes, and on Fridays we sometimes need a wee dose of inspiration in preparation for the weekend's social gatherings, so I thought, why not Fashion Fridays?

This week I'm bringing you a fantastic muse - Sarah, aka Sherbet Tone. I was so inspired by her fashion choices, and the fact that she documents them on flickr in a visual journal - I love this idea. I asked her a few fashion forward questions and here's what Sarah had to say. I love her unique sensibilities and the brave fashion frontier she forges! Thank you Sarah for allowing me to share just exactly what you wear and how you wear it so well.

What don't you leave home without?
A bottle of water. Or two. And lip balm.

Who is your fashion/style icon?
My first was Bettie Page. At the moment I’ve become smitten with Chloe Sevigny.

Where do you find inspiration?
In almost anything and everything visual, but particularly: Pin-up and Burlesque, Lula, I.D., museums, Haruki Murakami, Tokyo Pop, Nylon Street, Miranda July, travel, Arundhati
, Scandinavian aesthetics, food culture, and film, very much in film.

What's your favorite film in regards to wardrobe design?
Blow Up by Michelangelo Antonioni is absolutely amazing. I also love the wardrobe in John Water’s Cry Baby, Sofia Coppola’s Virgin Suicides, and Todd Hayes’ I’m Not There. Oh, and almost every Wes Anderson film.

If you could photograph anyone in the world, who might that be?
Bill Murray. He’d have me falling down with laughter.

Who would you like to go shopping with?
Patricia Fields. Her aesthetics are so much louder than mine, I’d like to see what if/how we could influence one another.

Do you have a favorite place to thrift shop?
The Goodwill Bin Store. Everything is less than one dollar, so I can always afford it, no matter how broke.

What is your most treasured fashion accessory?
Right now, I think it’s my collection of vintage hats and fascinators.

What is your idea of living hell?
Bush in office for another presidential term.

What are some of your favorites fashion websites/blogs to visit?
Face Hunter - He has the most amazing eye for street fashion. Ringo, Have a Banana - Lovely and down-to-earth. Moderniteter -Swedes are at the top of my list in fashion right now. Foto Decandent - The best editorials – all online, even the magazines I cannot purchase in my area. Glam Canyon - Club photos from London. My Love For You - This is more of an art-centered blog, but I just adore Meghan – her taste is impeccable.
