Ode to My Deco: Now We're Cookin'!!

Kitchens are usually the nucleus of the home. Host a party, and where does everyone end up? Yup, cramming into your tiny, little kitchen, happy as clams with all those good food smells and coziness enveloping them. It's just a very comforting place to be. So, for Number Nine of my Ode to Domino's My Deco Files, I'm bringing you to the kitchen, in all it's homey glory. I lean towards a fresh white kitchen with lots of practical and clean, chrome appliances. I love open cupboards with loads of gleaming white dishes proudly displayed, and if there's room for a dining nook, all the better. Domino's My Deco Files is filled with loads of kitchen inspiration - I had trouble narrowing it down! So, here's a look at many of my very favorites.

I love all these but my fave is the soft green kitchen.

Oh these are great. And very helpful we need to do the kitchen in our new place. I love the white ones but bit worried about keeping an all white kitchen clean.

I love these images, so inspiring. I love the kitchens that have picked out one strong colour and used it over and over again. I particularly like the room with the flowery table cloth.

Victoria -

I have zero time on my hands, but I always make at least a few minutes a day to sneak a peak of your site. Just lovely!

Everything you do is tasteful and amazing. You are owed such a load of thanks for all your scanning and web designing.

I live in the middle of nowhere, have hardly any taste, and secretly wish I was you!

Thank you for bringing color, light and life from my favorite city.

What an awesome post, darling! I love kitchens. In fact, it's almost the most important part of the house I'm interested in. Thanks for sharing these gorgeous pics!

I am updating my kitchen a lil' bit and I love some of this cabinet inspiration (and the striped floor is amazing). I live in NYC though and open shelves get really dirty.....but maybe just a couple? :)

These kitchens are so amazing, especially with all their open storage. Kitchens make me insanely jealous because I don't have one- just a fridge, stove, and sink along one wall of my rental. Some day, though, I will have a kitchen like this.

I particularly love the ones with pops of yellow.

we have a big binder filled with pages torn out from domino, dwell, met home, etc. for inspiration when we get to build a dream home some day and the kitchen section is by far the largest - so many beautiful kitchens!

I want to tear out a cupboard in my kitchen and replace it with open shelving. My cupboards hang down low to the counter top so you can't get a coffee maker or a mixer under them. It is very frustrating!

I am wondering if anyone has any advice for the open shelving. In a lot of photos it looks like the shelving used is the Ikea chunky floating shelves. I have these in another room and I know they wouldn't be strong enough to hold stacks of dishes and bowls long term.

I would love to hear any ideas you girls may have.
